Planned Pethood Plus, part of Planned Pethood International Services, offers affordable veterinary services for every family. The Colorado location’s recovery area is in an enclosed room with no air return, which created a steep odor control challenge. Consistently warm, with stagnant air and the overpowering smell of pet urine, the room was also at risk for bacteria growth on the stainless steel operating tables.

That’s why the animal hospital enlisted Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) to tackle its air purification needs. GPS installed its GPS-DM48-AC and GPS-iBAR within the building’s existing air handling equipment.

The GPS-DM48-AC is an auto-cleaning needlepoint bipolar ionization (NPBI®) system designed for indoor or outdoor duct mounting. It breaks down odors into basic, harmless compounds, leaving indoor air smelling fresh and free of odor-causing volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Within two days of installation, the urine odor had subsided, resolving a problem that had persisted for 25 years. In addition to eliminating the unwanted smell, NPBI technology also led to a noticeable reduction in airborne particles including animal dander.
